‘The Office’ Star Kate Flannery Almost Played a Different Character on the Show

After nine seasons of The Office, it’s hard to think of Kate Flannery as anyone but Meredith. Flannery was always a game for some physical problems, whether it was hit by Michael Scott (Steve Carell) ‘s car, setting her hair on fire or planning in the bathroom. However, Flannery ‘s first brush with The Office initially for a completely different role.

Flannery ended up benefiting from playing Meredith as she stayed on The Office for the nine seasons. She first read for Jan’s role, Michael Scott’s first love interest that Melora Hardin eventually played.

“I had a few brushes,” Flannery said. “We did this one scene where I kept going with football. They had a double stunt and I was like, ‘No, no, no, I’ll do it. It’s more fun if it’s me. ‘I slept well that night. That’s all I’m going to say. I woke up but it was very sad. ”
