‘The Notebook’ Director Thinks Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling’s On-Screen Kiss Convinced Them To Date: ‘They Were Together After That Kiss’

Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams’ relationship blossomed after the two actors met filming The notebook. However, their romance didn’t start with ice cream and Ferris wheel rides like their characters Noah Calhoun and Allie Hamilton. At first, they did not get on. Gosling even tried to kick McAdams from the set. It was only after that that they began to decline.

Filming the important kiss-in-the-water scene that brought Noah and Allie back together did something for the actors, according to director Nick Cassavetes The notebook. He says he broke down a barrier between Gosling and McAdams and this may well have been one of the “celebration times” that have led them to date.

Separating the scene by Tomatoes Rotten, Cassavetes said that the kiss on the screen changed the dynamic not only for Allie and Noah but for McAdams and Gosling as well.
