Russell Crowe Once Bought a Dinosaur Head From Leonardo DiCaprio

Russell Crowe is known for being one of Hollywood’s most talented actors, but not many people know how committed he is to making his kids happy.

In fact, he is so popular with them that he ended up buying a dinosaur head from Leonardo DiCaprio just for them.

Crowe first became interested in the dinosaur while hanging out with his friend, DiCaprio. The two were enjoying some drinks at DiCaprio’s house when Crowe decided to buy the dinosaur skull.

He remembered what had happened when he visited the Howard Stern Exhibition.

“I don’t remember, but I bought it for my kids,” Crowe said. “And I cut a few slabs for myself, a handful of vodka was involved in that. And it happened at Leonardo’s house. ”

Leonardo DiCaprio sold the dinosaur head because he wanted a different one

While DiCaprio loved the dinosaur of his love, there was another in which he was more interested. However, before he was willing to buy the new one, he had to sell the old one first.

“I think he started the conversation because it looks like, ‘I have this one, but there’s another one coming on the market that I want so I’m trying the sell that man, ”Crowe said. “I said, ‘I’ll buy it. ‘”

Russell Crowe bought the dinosaur head for a large sum

Even though one would think a dinosaur head would easily cost several hundred thousand dollars, DiCaprio sold it for much less. Crowe ended up racking around $ 30,000 for the artifact.

“He was really cool about it, he said, ‘Give me what I paid for it,’ and I think it paid off like 30 or 35 grand or something. ”

Stern was surprised to find out how little he spent on Crowe, virtually speaking. But Crowe explained that it was because the head was not from one of the most famous dinosaurs out there, such as the T-Rex.

“It wasn’t a popular dinosaur,” said Crowe.

Whatever the cost, Crowe said his only intention in buying it was to make his children happy.

“Part of the reason I bought it was when I bought it, which is around 2008 or 2009, my kids, especially my oldest, were excited, they are in. for dinosaurs. So here’s one, here’s one for the playroom. ”

Russell Crowe auctioned off the dinosaur to pay for his divorce

Although his children loved the dinosaur head, Crowe had to sell it at auction to raise some money for his divorce. Even though he only paid $ 30,000 for it, its value has skyrocketed since it was sold.

“I think it’s almost doubled in value since I sold it,” Crowe said.

He could have made a lot more money for the divorce if he had done ‘Lord of the Rings’

Later in the conversation, Stern pointed out that Crowe had turned down a lead role Lord of the Rings that could have given him a cowardly net of money. Eligible for 10% of the film’s total sales, it could earn up to $ 100 million.

Everyone was laughing and joking about it if he had made the film, he wouldn’t have had to sell the dinosaur’s head, and his life would have been a little different.

“You could hold your dinosaur head,” Stern said.

“Or you bought the rest of the dinosaur!” Crowe fired back.
