Still, since the couple’s separation, Priscilla has opened up a bit about what it was like to live under Elvis control for so many years. And she revealed that the two lived “in a bubble” – and that Elvis never wanted to see her unless she was dressed and full of looks.

Elvis and Priscilla Presley had an interesting relationship

When Elvis and Priscilla first met, they were both living abroad in Germany. He had already made a name for himself as a rock and roll star, but agreed to spend time in the army. Priscilla’s father was doing the same, and the two met after a friend introduced them. Although Priscilla was only 14 and Elvis 24, there was an immediate connection. After returning home, she stayed in Germany, but wrote letters to each other for two years.

Eventually, Priscilla’s parents allowed her to live with Elvis, and the couple had been dating for several years before they married when Priscilla was 21. Priscilla once revealed that she could not go out to dinner or be seen without a maker

Things between Priscilla and Elvis only became more bizarre as they remained together. Priscilla once revealed that Elvis refused to even take her to dinner because he was too worried about taking pictures “putting a fork in his mouth,” according to Town & Country. Priscilla said she “literally lived in a bubble” while he was with her, just allowing her to hang out with his small circle of friends.

Not only had Elvis decided how Priscilla could dress and what outfit she could wear, but he never wanted to see her before she did either. “There are things to keep to yourself,” Priscilla said. “He never wanted me to see clothes. He wanted to see the result of clothing. She said he was keeping a “secret” in their marriage.

Priscilla said no one could ‘tell Elvis’ what to do’

Eventually, Priscilla became increasingly dissatisfied with the way her life was growing at the hands of the King of Rock and Roll. He would go for a walk, and often deceive, while she was engaged at home. Priscilla realized that she had not developed an identity for herself, and eventually parted ways with Elvis in an attempt to find herself.

Several years after the separation, she learned that Elvis had died as a result of drug addiction – and there was little discussion about whether the people around him were working hard enough to stop him. “You did No tell Elvis Presley what to do. You didn’t, ”Priscilla once said People. “He knew what he was doing. ”
