Patricia Heaton Was Weeping ‘All the Way Down the Aisle’ at Her Wedding to David Hunt

When actress Patricia Heaton married her husband David Hunt in 1990, she had already been married once before and was not sure she was making the right choice.

As it turned out, the couple’s decision was very correct, but at the time it was a very sad event for the Everyone loves Raymond star.

Patricia Heaton’s husband was knitting her long distance

When Heaton was touring his now-British actor and producer, David Hunt, the two were going a long way. In particular, Hunt would read poetry on the phone to his future wife.

The pair met as Hunt began bringing his New York City flat to Heaton when he had to make a film on the West Coast.

“It was beautiful at first sight, for my part,” Hunt told A&E curriculum vitae in 2003.

While he was away, he would call Heaton and recite poetry to her on the phone. “She never hung up on me,” he said. “That was the entrance I needed. ”

Heaton thought she had made a big mistake

Hunt and the couple set their wedding date in 1990 with high expectations and happy hopes for the future, both of whom thought they were making a big mistake.

For Heaton, it was the result of her first marriage to another actress.

In her conversation with curriculum vitae, she explained that she had met someone from her drama class and married quickly. Just as soon, she regretted her decision.

“There was no consistency,” she said. “So that marriage lasted three years and it was over. Getting a divorce is a big failure, especially being from a Catholic family. I felt like a major failure in this important part of my life. ”

Hunt was also experiencing his own willingness to walk down the aisle.

“I think it was those who died with a man in his early 30s who had not matured enough to make that kind of promise,” Hunt said.

The couple’s tears wedding day

Heaton remembered crying during her own wedding ceremony. Her family and friends thought she was screaming with joy, but the former star The Middle knew better.

“All the way down the corridor, I was crying,” she said. “And people in the seats thought they were tears of joy. I was just thinking, ‘Here I am again, marrying an actor who is completely wrong for me. ‘”

Thirty years and four sons later, the couple is still happily together.

Heaton said March in 2014, “Getting married is amazing, but as hard as I had to work to get where I am professionally, I had to do the same in marriage.

“It’s hard to be with one person for the rest of your life, when you grow both at different stages and in different paths. You need to find out how to ‘grow different’ together. ‘”
