Michael Jackson may have been known as the “King of Pop” before his death in 2009. But the singer was also known for being a controversy. In particular, the allegations of child sexual abuse surfaced from the mid-1990s until after Jackson’s death. Whether or not these charges are true, Jackson became interested in child stars. He even reached out to teenage actor Sean Astin during the 1985’s filming The Goonies.

In the mid-1980s, Jackson seemed to be at the height of his fame. Singer Thriller hit records in November 1982. And by the end of 1983, it had become the best-selling album ever. Reinforced with tours such as “Billie Jean,” “Beat It,” and “Human Nature.” Thriller he carried Jackson’s career in 1984. That year, he reunited with The Jacksons for one final album, with the title Impact.
Jackson would not release another single to Bad in 1987. That album was a huge success, with tracks such as “The Way You Make Me Feel” and “Man in the Mirror.” But before that, Jackson’s illustrious history continued, when King of Pop led a musical sci-fi adventure at Disney’s Epcot theme park. The 17-minute film, with the title Captain EO, marking Jackson ‘s second acting career following the 1978 film version of An Wiz.
Sean Astin co-star Corey Feldman became close friends with the singer
In the same interview with Vulture, Astin went on to discuss his part The Goonies co-star Corey Feldman’s experience of sexual abuse. According to Astin, Feldman’s famous relationship with Jackson was separated from these events.
“People ask [Feldman], ‘Why don’t you go to the cops about the people who abused you?’ he says, ‘I went to the cops. I told them I was molested, here are the names, but that man is not Michael Jackson, ‘”Astin said. “All they wanted was Michael Jackson. So they did not follow his instructions. But I’m always rooting for Corey. ”
