Sustaining the energy of its path with Young Thug, Megan Thee Stallion is in “Don’t Stop” mode. The rapper just dropped his official studio album Good news on November 20, almost interrupting what has been a good year for her.
She came to a movie soundtrack. She has two successful albums – one with Beyoncé and the other with Cardi B – which went to number one. She has also launched a couple fashion collaboration, got a Revlon contract, got a magazine cover, and got a grip on her legs.
And yet, there is much to learn about Megan Thee Stallion. The Houston woman recently sat down for a Q&A session and found out why she has avoided tattoos.
Megan Thee Stallion selected ‘Body-yadi-yadi-yadi’
Tattoos are very common in music – in hip-hop and beyond – with some artists opting for small pieces in memory of special people or times and others choosing to go big. Beyoncé and Jay-Z have matched “IV” tattoos, Rihanna has an Egyptian goddess on her chest, and others such as Post Malone, 21 Savage, and Jhene Aiko have a mix.
Megan Thee Stallion teamed up with GQ to go under cover on the internet to answer random fan questions, and she took a look at the topic. One knowledgeable person wanted to know why she doesn’t have ink, and she responded very honestly.
“I was always scared to get a tattoo because my mum was always like, ‘Don’t get a tattoo afking cking. I take over a * s. ‘ So it was always in the back of my identical head tattoos, ”she replied.
Megan Thee Stallion often cites her late mother, Holly Thomas, as one of the biggest influences and motivators besides the other women in her family. As many fans know, Megan’s mother was also a rapper and as a child, she would watch her mother write rhymes.
While Thomas was still in the game, she directed herself as an artist and later moved on to become Megan’s mother. The tattoo advice is probably one of many bumps she fell for her daughter.
Other rappers who do not have tattoos
In addition to Stallion Megan Thee, there are several other hip-hop artists who don’t get a tattoo, including Big Sean, TI, Common, J. Cole, Ice-T, and Lil Baby.
Lil Baby went into detail about his choice not to get any tattoos during his interview with the New York Times earlier this year. For him, it’s about the image he wants for his project.
“That’s why I don’t have tattoos, because I always knew I was going to run out of money, and I had to sit in front of some people to do something with my money. . And I didn’t want them to look at me like a dope boy, ”he said.
“I had to keep my appearance straight. I literally said, ‘When I sit in front of these white people, I don’t want tattoos to be there. ‘In a way, it’s still like that today. Because when I sit in those meetings, I don’t have tattoos on my face. I know they have to think something if I have tattoos on my face. ”
Megan Thee Stallion did not analyze whether she would ever consider getting one in the future, but for now, she expresses it through her music, fashion and anime style.
