It would be fair to say that Maude Apatow grew up on set. Years before its submission Euphoria, she looked into the entertainment industry. Thanks to her father Judd Apatow (who is a prominent producer, screenwriter, and comedian), and her mother, Leslie Mann (a successful actress) Maude has served many sets in her life.
Thanks to her early experience in the film industry, Maude was always 100% sure of what she wanted to do for a living. But even though she was fascinated by the entertainment industry, her parents claimed that school was her first and only priority until she became a legal adult. In a 2019 interview with Collider, the actress got candid about how she knew iia ‘found a call very early in life.
Maude Apatow always knew she wanted to work in entertainment thanks to her parents
“Yeah,” Maude said when asked if she knew when she wanted to try a career in entertainment. “My parents didn’t allow me to do anything else, but they weren’t involved until I was a little older. They thought it was important for me to finish high school, and I’m glad I did, but the second step I graduated, I was like, ‘Let’s go! ‘I believe I never knew I wanted to do this’ cause I grew up around it, but I couldn’t think of anything else to do. There was not even a question. ”
Once Maude finished high school, she hit the floor trying to launch her career. She has recently captured the attention of fans by starring in the acclaimed HBO series, Euphoria. The TV show will feature Maude Lexi Howard players. She is both the youngest sister of Sydney Sweeny’s Cassie Howard as well as the always trusted friend in Zendaya’s Rue. Maude helps instill a sense of loyalty and empathy for showing, despite how Rue often treats her character.
The ‘Euphoria’ star is also interested in directing
But Maude is not just interested in acting. She is also interested in being behind the camera and has stated that her ultimate goal is to become a director. In fact, back in 2017, the actor co-wrote and co-directed a film called Don’t worry Alice. In addition, she enjoys exploring other leaders, including Euphoria director, Sam Levinson, to understand how they work.
“My goal is to be a leader,” Maude said. “Watching my parents work is the most amazing thing. I have good mentors. And it’s been cool watching Sam directly. Everyone leads in such a different way, and we’ve had a few directors on display. Augustine [Frizzell] we led the pilot, and we also had Jen Morrison and Pippa Bianco. It’s been really engaging, discovering how everyone works so differently while playing the same character. I’ve never experienced that before, so it’s been really interesting. ”
What now for Maude?
Clearly, Maude has had her fair share of learning experiences with acting and direction despite her young age. We’re sure her fans can’t wait to see what’s in store for her Euphoria character as well as what projects she chooses to lead in the future.
