Kate Hudson said kissing Matthew McConaughey was not the best

In an interview Oct. 13 on the Goop podcast by Gwyneth Paltrow, Hudson shared some of the details of their movie kisses How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and Fool’s Gold. When Paltrow asked, “Who’s the best kiss on screen,” Hudson gave McConaughey low marks.

“Honestly, I feel like I didn’t have the best wedding tools,” Hudson said. “I feel like I should be wearing better ones.”

She continued, “Every time I kiss McConaughey, I mean, it’s like something happens and there’s a snot or wind. As when we were kissing, as at the end of Fool’s Gold, we are like in the ocean, we had the plane crash, it was just carved all over my face. ”

Paltrow wondered if McConaughey’s kiss was like kissing a brother, to whom Hudson said, “I think it can be a little sibling-y at times. But no. ”

Matthew McConaughey confirmed they never had a perfect kiss

Hudson’s repetition of their kiss wasn’t too much off the mark, according to McConaughey, who clarified why their kisses were never perfect.

In an interview with Yahoo Entertainment, McConaughey broke the Fool’s Gold a kiss Hudson spoke of, explaining why he had caught her face.

“So many of Kate and I’s kisses have been horrible,” McConaughey explained. “We still like, hey, can we get a kiss where it’s just the right temperature? Isn’t the ocean sweeping us away? Nobody lets us stuff, over our heads? ”

McConaughey explained how ‘snot’ was part of their ‘Fool’s Gold’ kiss

McConaughey went on to talk about how that sea water kiss wasn’t really romantic. “Inside Fool’s Gold, it seems, ‘Okay, here’ s the scene: you’re in the middle of the ocean. You go underwater. So in action, go underwater and then come out of the water as you gas for air, you are happy to live. Then you look at each other and you swim together and go into a catch, ‘”McConaughey said of how they were directed for the scene.

“There’s a lot of salt water and snot and all sorts of stuff in between all of that, so you do that and you’re like, okay, I think that worked, but did that look any good ?, ”he explained.

McConaughey continued, “[They’re] like, ‘No, we better take something else.’ So there were always, as it were, elements making it harder … We never had to get a nice romantic kiss. There is still time. ”

While McConaughey explains why he stopped making romantic comedies, he may finally share a romantic kiss with his former rom-com co-star.
