Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher became friends while filming Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. The friendship continued through several other films and the promotional events that followed. In December 2016, Fisher died of a heart attack one month after she last died Star Wars film.
Hamill shared some of the moments on his screen with Fisher a year after the actor’s death.

In an interview in December 2017 with The Keeper, Hamill opened up about his relationship with Fisher. The duo starred Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia, while Hamill admitted he and Fisher had a draw. However, Hamill started nothing with Fisher. Hamill said after getting a bad break with another actor before booking a place Star Wars, vowed never to become a co-star again.
Fisher also wrote in the memoir that she wanted to follow Hamill. She said Hamill would have treated her better than Ford if they had gone together.
“I’m sorry it’s not Mark,” Fisher wrote of her relationship. “It could be. It it should be has been. Maybe it meant something. Maybe not much, but definitely more. ”
