‘Little House on the Prairie’: Why Michael Landon’s Ex-Wife Once Said She Felt ‘Lost’ Before He Had an Affair

Michael Landon played his amazing father on it Toilet on the Moor. Like Charles “Pa” Ingalls, his character was the one his family looked to for guidance and support. Away from the screen, many of Landon’s cast members respected and regarded Landon as his father figure.

Towards the end of the series, Landon’s real-life family made headlines. He and his second wife, Lynn Noe, were facing marital problems soon driving a shield between Landon and his crew.

Landon and Noah married long before he formed and starred in Toilet on the Moor. according to AmoMama, the pair reportedly met while filming a program of another landmark Landon show, Bonanza. Noe, born Marilyn Lynn Noe, appeared on the series. Shortly after their first meeting, Landon and Noe fell in love. They decided to flee Mexico in 1963 and started a family from there. During their marriage, the couple had four children – Michael Landon, Jr., Leslie Landon, Shawna Landon, and Christopher Landon.

Landon’s divorce from Noe soon hurt his relationship with his daughter on screen. Gilbert wrote in his book, Prairie story, that Landon left Noe and their children for Clerico. Prior to the separation, Gilbert witnessed suspicious behavior between Landon and his soon-to-be third wife. She remembered feeling like she had to choose a side in the divorce. Because of her family’s obedience to Noah, Gilbert decided to end her relationship with Landon.

“It is accepted that I was able to sell as I always did with Mike after he left his wife,” she wrote. “I was caught in the middle when the people around me chose sides.”

“It was creating a new life for him, someone who didn’t include me. I get it now. My family’s obedience was with Aunt Lynn and the kids, so my relationship with Mike started to spread. ”

Gilbert and Landon reunited years later at his daughter Leslie’s wedding. Before he died of cancer in 1991, Gilbert helped care for him.
