Melissa Gilbert had a problem with Dean Butler’s age

Soon, representatives proceeded Toilet on the Moor worried about the future of the show because they don’t have chemistry. Several observers complained that Gilbert and Butler were not “unbelievable” as a couple, prompting producers to find a “spark” between them.

Although Gilbert initially said she was “scared” of Butler, the two remained friends after the House on the Prairie ended in 1984.
