The love story of Kobe and Vanessa Bryant is straight from a romance movie. The two met and began a friendship when Vanessa was just 17-years-old and Kobe was a rising star in the NBA. They married less than a year later and were married nearly 20 years before Kobe died.
But Kobe’s false scandal almost opposed their union. Fortunately, Vanessa gave Kobe a second chance, which Kobe publicly thanked her for more than once.
Repeat the Kobe Bryant fraud scandal
While living in Colorado in 2003, a 19-year-old woman worked as a front desk clerk with Kobe on a tour of the building. She then visited the Kobe hotel room, where she allegedly raped her.
Kobe denied the allegations, saying the sex was consensual. He was charged with one count of philosophical assault and a trial date was set 14 months later. The case was later leaked amid several leaks in the media, including the name of the prosecutor and DNA evidence confirming that she was closely related to someone else just 15 times before she met Kobe.
The LA Times reports Kobe ‘s apology to his prosecutor the day after the case was dropped.
“First of all, I want to apologize directly to the young woman who was involved in this event. I want to apologize for my behavior that night and for the impact it has had in the past year, ”he said at the time. “Although this year has been very difficult for me personally, I can only imagine the pain she had to endure.”

Per Kobe, Vanessa had every right to walk away from the marriage. Instead, she chose to stay and see things through because of her love for him and her young family.
“It would have been very easy for her to leave, of course,” said Kobe. “Especially in that time. It would have been a lot easier to leave. You go, you take half the money, and your daughter… she ‘s fine. But she did not. “
Kobe and Vanessa Bryant part shortly before they reconcile and expand their family
After the Kobe scandal, Vanessa welcomed another girl, Gianna. The couple seemed to be doing well but more false rumors disturbed the relationship. Vanessa filed for divorce in 2011 and even Kobe had signed the deed multiple times at that time.
Fortunately, the couple made a settlement and stopped the divorce just two years later, with Vanessa announcing the same on an Instagram post, writing: “We are pleased to announce that we have settled. Our divorce action will be canceled. We look forward to the future together. ”
