John Wayne’s 5-Ingredient BBQ Deviled Eggs Are the Perfect Easy New Year’s Eve Appetizer

If you’re like most people, you’re ready to kick 2020 to the pavement. And with large New Year’s Eve gatherings off the table due to the coronavirus (COVID-19), you’re likely to be shivering in 2021 from the comfort of your own home. Fortunately, you can still celebrate the celebration with some appetizers are easy to edit, like these BBQ boiled eggs from none other than the John Wayne cinematic legend.

Wayne enjoyed plenty of other recipes to stick to your ribs. His favorites included roast meat and gravy, cornbread skillet, scallop potatoes, crab dip, and spicy chili made with tequila, according to The taste of home.

One dish that is particularly associated with the star of so many classic Westerns is the John Wayne Casserole. Wayne added the recipe for this dish to a 1979 cookbook with the title Cooking with love from Cara and her friends, according to the website Chefs’ information, and there are several versions of it.

The original egg and cheese version of Wayne casserole requires a combination of 2 pounds of Monterey Jack cheese and cheddar cheese, canned green chilies, eggs, spoiled milk, and tomato. Lightweight version divided by Deseret News cut down on the cheese and use only egg whites.

A metaphorical version of the dish came with a University of Mississippi Center cafeteria. It is made with taco-seasoned ground beef, cheddar, bell pepper, jalapeno, and onion and has a biscuit crust.
