John Travolta Says Dancing With Princess Diana Was His Best Memory

John Travolta has had a successful career as an actor. He starred in many successful films and received tons of awards. However, there is one memory that will always stand out for Travolta. He once said that dancing with Princess Diana was his best memory.

Princess Diana was teasing John Travolta, reports Entertainment tonight. She loved the actor so much that she asked to attend a dinner held at the White House in 1985.

When Travolta was at the event, he asked Princess Diana to dance with him. He says he noticed she started sweeping. “The look on her face when I asked her to dance – she smiled,” Travolta recalls. Entertainment tonight interview. “And I enjoyed that; I thought it was pretty much down to earth. ”

During an interview with America Good morningTravolta said dancing with Princess Diana was “one of the best things in life” and the “best time of the ’80s.”

The midnight blue dress on Princess Diana that night was known as the “Travolta Costume,” as she wore it while dancing with Travolta. The dress was designed by Victor Edelstein. In 2020, the gown was on display at Kensington Palace.

Princess Diana was dancing with Phil Donahue

Phil Donahue who was the speaker had a chance to perform a dance with Princess Diana. “I had to fight against everyone who wanted to cut in,” Donahue said in an interview with Watch what happens live with Andy Cohen. Donahue’s wife, Marlo Thomas, first revealed he didn’t want to dance with the royal family.

Donahue got a chance once in a lifetime. Why did he reject the offer in the first place? Donahue’s wife says he was nervous. However, after his nerves had calmed down, Donahue agreed to dance with Princess Diana.

“He had his first dance at a gala we went to in Chicago,” said Thomas. “And it was funny because they called us ahead of time. And I was talking at lunch this afternoon for [Princess Diana]. And [Donahue] he said, ‘Oh, I don’t want to do that.’

“Phil is very shy; people don’t understand that, ”continued Thomas. “He did [dance with her]. He had his first dance with Princess Diana at the party. And they got really good. They chatted away while dancing. I was very happy. ”

Requirements for dancing with Princess Diana

Men who were considered to be dancing with Princess Diana had to meet a list of requirements. One of the requirements was that it had to be six feet high. He also had to be married.

“They said we need one to dance with Princess Diana and there are three rules: a) he must be married, b) [the wife] it must be in the room, and c) it must be at least 6 feet high. And we want Phil to be that man, ”said Thomas.
