Barefoot Contessa Ina Garten often recommends the use of store-bought ingredients when you are short on time or when food is prepared just as well as the home version. Jennifer Garner once shared a recipe hack to save time but said, “Don’t tell Ina Garten.”

Garner has loved Garten for a long time and the two quickly became friends while Garten was filming him. Contessa barefooted culinary demonstration in California.
“Somewhere along the line I found out she loved my cookbooks and TV show, so I asked if we could cook together,” Garten said. Garner had initially hoped to go to the Garten cooking show but was denied the opportunity.

Jennifer Garner suggested a cooking hack that she didn’t think Ina Garten would allow
In a Facebook post 2018, Garner shared Martha Stewart’s go-to recipe for soup and shared a time-saving cooking hack she wanted to keep secret from Garten.
“I’ve been making this Martha Stewart recipe for years – roasted lemon chicken alone is enough to make you sing !,” she explained at the time. “You can make the garnish (home stock) or make it in a hurry (broth from a box – don’t tell Ina Garten!), Whatever you make, this recipe is for sure.”
She shared the recipe for roasted lemon chicken soup as well as pictures of it being prepared through the various stages. It was unclear if Garner had used homemade stock or taken the shortcut with boxed soup.
Ina Garten prefers homemade chicken stock
In the 2019 section for the Today reception, Garten weighed in with her recommendations for food purchased or purchased at home. In some cases, she was sharing, buying a store doing the trick well. For example, she prefers her own homemade vanilla extract but said you can get a really good quality vanilla extract.
She also offered her views on chicken stock and Garner was right, preferring the Barefoot Contessa for home. “I really prefer homemade chicken stock but if you have to, make sure it’s not high in salt. ”
Garten commented on other things homemade vs store and said things like pasta sauce, mayonnaise, coconut butter and ketchup can be purchased. She always buys puff pastry because of how difficult it is to make. “Don’t worry about even doing it yourself – it takes forever and buying a store is just great,” she said.
Grated parmesan is one food that can’t be prepared for it, because it always gets a piece of it and grazes itself. “I always thank parmesan myself because when you buy it grated you have no idea what you are getting – it could be something like parmesan and you want the real thing. ”
