Jada Pinkett Smith Once Revealed Her Biggest Fear When It Comes To Willow and Jaden Smith

Jada Pinkett Smith shares two children with her husband, Will Smith. Will has a son, Trey Smith, from the first marriage.

After meeting the set of The Fresh Prince Bel-Air, the couple went on to marry in 1997. They welcomed their first child together, a son named Jaden Smith, in 1998, and a daughter, Willow Smith, in 2000.

Now both 22 and 21 respectively, Jada and Will’s children have all grown up. But back when they were still young, Jada opened up about her greatest fear for her children.

Jada Pinkett Smith did not want her children to grow like she did

In an interview in July 2011 with Red book, Jada then opened the 39-year-old about Jaden and Willow. At 12 and 10 at the time, the duo had already started acting, taking part in films with their father. But it wasn’t their entry into the entertainment industry that bothered Jada. They were getting a similar lift.

“I’ll tell you what I’m most afraid of: They grow up like I did, in a house with drugs in a battlefield, where I would walk out my door that I would be burned , ”Said Jada. “Hollywood doesn’t compare to that!”

The Girls Tour star spent her childhood in Baltimore, Maryland, before moving to California to pursue her own acting career.

“Growing up on the streets of Baltimore, or on the streets of Philly where Will was raised – I wish my kids were here,” she said.

And even though Jaden and Willow didn’t spend their childhood in Baltimore or Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Jada was still concerned about their environment.

“It still makes me sad that they are part of something that is not completely true,” she said before adding, “But it is up to Will and I to teach them what is true and what is not. ”
