‘Iron Fist’ Haters Say It Wasn’t Finn Jones’ Fault

A few years ago, another character made his way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Iron Fist is a Netflix series first seen in 2017. The show received negative reviews and did not last long.

In Iron Fist, Jones played the main character Danny Rand, also known as Iron Fist. His character is a martial arts expert and can summon a special power called the “Iron Fist.”

In the show, Danny learns kung-fu after taking on people living in a lost city. As New York City tends to be an attractive destination for fictional activity, Jones ’role involves fighting crime in the metropolitan area.

Before the start of season two, Jones prepared to return as Danny by undergoing intensive training in martial arts. Men’s Magazine states that the actor worked with a personal trainer, who put him through athletic-based practice. Jones also trained under a Shaolin warrior monk and learned several traditional kung-fu moves.

Iron Fist it ran for two seasons, but Netflix, unfortunately, canceled the series in 2018. The cancellation was not surprising as many Netflix series had received the same treatment. Even though Jones didn’t get a reproduction of his career for the third season, fans got to see him play Danny in. The defenders and Luke Cage.

The reception was not positive

Not every entry to the Marvel-verse is a winner. Iron Fist it was one show that received a bad reception. Fans had a number of complaints after the release of the first season. One was the packaging of the show in the first few episodes. The story seemed to have been moving too slowly for people to like.

Fans felt sad when they had to wait for six events to fully invest in the series. It’s important that a story reels people early, or the ratings may suffer. Jones’ role was not particularly well received.

Many fans have seen the story of the character’s origin share similarities with other superhero backgrounds. Not only that, they were not happy that Jones was engaged to play Danny. One of the arguments was that someone of another race could have played the character to help with the multiplier of the thrower.

Some fans thought the second season wasn’t very good, but the overall consensus was that it had gotten better. The last show looked enjoyable to watch with better fight scenes. However, the ratings were not strong enough to keep the series alive.

Do fans want to see Finn Jones come back?

There has been a conversation recently Reddit about whether Jones should reproduce his role as Iron Fist. Some fans don’t hold much love for how the actor accepts the character. Fortunately, a few fans noticed that he was not responsible for the backup.

“Yes. That was not the case [Jones] acting which was a problem. It was the writing. He was very good in season 2, and was very popular in the ‘Luke Cage’ program, ”said one Reddit user.

Other users shared similar feelings as if Jones was not to blame for the character and the show’s shortcomings. One even commented on how they would want to see him return as a supportive character in other series.

However, one change that fans want is a new set of writers. While a film may not be a good idea, most feel that a different approach to the character might work.

If the MCU ever brought Iron Fist back, changes had to happen. Hopefully, for fans, these changes would allow Jones to work to his full potential.
