Ina Garten Recommends These Delicious and Easy Appetizers for Christmas

Ina Garten has a couple of Christmas appetizer suggestions that are perfect for the holidays – but can be served any time of the year. Find out what Barefoot Contessa’s favorite appetizers are for the holiday season.

Ina Garten recommends two simple appetizers

In a Dec. 11 interview with Katie Couric, fans asked Garten questions about cooking and holiday food suggestions. When one fan asked, “Can you suggest a few fun appetizers, something special to make for Christmas Eve ?,” she had a couple of ideas from her latest cookbook that would be perfect.

“The spread of pimento cheese is a really nice thing and I thought, ‘I want to go back on that because they’re usually very cheesy. ‘So I made a new one, it’s in Modern comfort food, it’s very good, ”she explained

Garten said, “And the other thing inside is a warm spinach dip which is so good… everyone needs to have their own little gratin dish with the spinach dip in it so you don’t share appetizers, if you don’t live with them, that’s okay. ”

Ina Garten spicy pimento cheese recipe

The spicy pimento cheese spread recipe there is a simple base with ingredients that stimulate the taste several pounds.

Ingredients

  • Soft cream ounce 10 ounces, soft
  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon of garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon celery seeds
  • 1 cup jalapenos pickled, pickled
  • 6 ounces piquillo pepper, pickle (or use regular pimentos)
  • 5 cups peeled cheddar (about 1 1/4 pounds)
  • 1 to 2 Sriracha lobes

Combine the first five ingredients, then mix in pepper, cheese, and Sriracha. Change flavor with more mayonnaise and Sriracha, if desired. Chill before serving.

If you’re looking for an even easier appetizer option, Garten found the right solution – store-bought items do just fine.

In 2009 Food Network Special Thanksgiving, an observer posted a question about the Thanksgiving spies, listing their usual distribution. “My family won’t be eating Thanksgiving dinner until mid-afternoon. We usually dry beef with cream cheese rolled around pickles, meatballs, and maybe even a shrimp cocktail, ”they wrote.

The viewer asked, “Could you give me a new idea that will become my favorite old family?”

Garten offered “a great idea – don’t do any of it.” Instead, she said using unpaid and purchased appetizers can be very convenient as they are small bites that are lightweight and not too filling.

“Keep it very simple and spend your time making a good Thanksgiving dinner,” she said. Here’s what I do – uncooked appetizers. What a great way to start a party. ”

It couldn’t be easier. “I take three small bowls – I like silver bowls – and fill them with store-bought snacks,” Garten explained. “Like roasted, salted cashews, really good ones, some salted potato chips – they were loved as kids, they’re great with drinks.”

She continued, “And then I like something grapes, like a caper lizard. Three little flavors of things to keep people from filling up, they have something to eat with a glass of wine. ”

“Three bowls, no cooking. It’s as easy as that, ”said Garten.
