‘Gossip Girl’: Execs Wanted Ashley Olsen and Rumer Willis to Play Iconic Blair and Serena

Gossip Girl it was one of the hottest shows of the 2000s, largely because of the mysterious girl who destroyed everyone ‘s secrets. And it looks like it’s up for a resume.

In the meantime, mysteries from the original series come to light. Blake Lively and Leighton Meester have been hired to play Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf on the show, but according to Rant Screen, these careers almost went to two famous actresses.

‘Gossip Girl’ was very fast

Although not many parents were fans Gossip Girl, that didn’t stop teenagers from seeing it. In fact, it was a guilty pleasure for more than one adult.

The romance on the show was a big draw for many fans, but there was more to the show than that. It was packed with fashion shows, parties, social events, and tons of teen drama.

Mystery became a form of money on display, and friends could quickly move to enemies instead of a single program. The plot lines were also interesting to follow. At times it was easy to find out what was going to happen, and at other times, it surprised the members of the party.

Many fans were devastated when the series came to an end, and are eagerly awaiting the new remake. Apparently Gossip Girl there are more secrets to pour, however.

Are they friends or not? That was the question fans were always asking themselves as they watched Serena and Blair fight each program.

Serena, played by Blake Lively, was the fun party girl. She had a sense of style and people were waking up to her everywhere she went. She also had a dark time that would often come back to choke. Just when viewers thought they knew about Serena’s main secrets, another character from the past would come back, and she would again be torn between being sharing her secret or trying to hide the truth.

Blair was against that. She was often referred to as ‘Queen B’ because she always tried to take control of everything, even if her advice was not welcome. Blair tried to portray it as pure and innocent, but behind closed doors, she was very much a schemer. Her plans would often go back on her, with dire consequences. Many of her enemies did not bother her to go out to Gossip Girl, who blew Blair out to the whole world.

When the two were not at each other’s necks, they would come together with very good results. Serena and Blair were two strong guys who brought down some of the funniest characters on the show.

Who almost got the roles of Serena and Blair?

While fans can’t imagine Blair and Serena being played by anyone else, the CW Network once had other plans. To say that some people weren’t happy with the idea at all Gossip Girl there was an understatement. Chase Crawford and Penn Badgley even said the show was “ahead of its time.”
