Gal Gadot Once Tried To Lose the Miss Universe Pageant on Purpose — ‘I Was Very Naughty’

Gal Gadot is one of the most popular actresses in the film industry today. Her much-anticipated film, Wonder Woman 1984 recently released and has since become a bonafide superstar.

Before acting, Gadot lived in Isreal and found out what she was going to do with her life. Between high school and her plans to join the army, she ended up competing in Miss Israel’s beauty baby. The contest opened a lot of doors for her, but just after she bombed Miss Universe’s pageant because she didn’t want to win.

Initially Gadot did not intend to compete in Miss Israel’s infancy, but her mother decided to send her picture to the competition committee.

“I was 18, I graduated high school and I had some time between joining the army,” Gadot said in the 2017 remake W Iris interview. “My mum said, ‘Hey, why don’t I post your picture, you’ve finished school, and this is it [a] proper pageant, whatever. “

Even after entering the tournament, Gadot had little expectations. When she finished winning the Miss Israel passport, she felt a little upset.

“I came in, and I didn’t expect to win,” Gadot said. “And then I won, and then it scared me. I was like, ‘What? Miss Israel? All the worries of being a Miss Israel? ”

She tried to miss Miss Universe’s pageant for a reason

After winning Ms. Israel, she went on to compete in the Miss Universe pass. However, she had no desire to win the child and hoped she would lose.

“I was very bold, I was not behaving myself,” Gadot said. “I’m a really good girl, but because I was afraid I was going to win again – because I didn’t want to win Miss Israel’s pass and then I won – I realized, ‘Oh or, I don’t want them to choose me again. ‘”

In her attempt at self-sabotage, Gadot tried everything she could to reduce her chances of winning.

“So I came down late to all the predictions, and I didn’t have the right evening gowns for breakfast,” Gadot said. “I even remember Paula Abdul, she was one of the judges there and she was questioning me and I was like, ‘I’m sorry, not so good English. ‘Because I just didn’t want to have anything to do with that. ”

The ‘Wonder Woman’ star moved to acting shortly afterwards

Shortly after the baby, Gadot hired an agent and started showing up on the radar of different throwing leaders. However, she had no desire to be an actress either.

“I wasn’t an actor back then,” Gadot said. “The leader threw this over from England into Israel and was looking for the [James] Bond’s daughter. When the agent told me about that I was like, ‘No way I’m gonna audition, I’m studying law and international relations, and way too clever and bold to be an actor.’ ”

Finally, after going through many trials, Gadot realized how fun acting can be as a career.

“I got feedback, and another call back, and another one, and through this process, I realized that‘ G-damn, acting is a lot more fun than going to law school, ”Gadot said.
