Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter: Some MCU Fans Still Aren’t Impressed

While Marvel Cinematic Universe has seen several stars with big names either take on established roles or break into stardom because of them, not all casting decisions respond on fans.

When Emily VanCamp entered the Marvel universe as the granddaughter of American interest interest Peggy Carter, inclings of romance began to unfold. As fans said on Reddit recently, however, that plan has been changed. A group of Redditors discussed this in a thread on the subject.

VanCamp was originally born in Canada as a teenager and has not looked back since. She got her start on the famous Nickelodeon series Are you afraid of the dark and quickly moved on to high-profile work shortly thereafter. From playing young Jackie Kennedy to a short turn on short series like Glory days, VanCamp was not a household name, but she was well on her way to becoming one.

Her first important part came in Everwood, where VanCamp played Amy Abbott for five years. Shortly afterwards Everwood off the air, VanCamp played Rebecca Harper in the hit series Brothers and Sisters for four years and then Amanda Clark played on Revenge for a further five years. However, with so much television success behind it, VanCamp had yet to find a compelling film to its name.

This changed in 2014 when she entered the lucrative MCU as Agent 13. But her character did not become the main stable seen early in the events.

Who is Agent 13?

In Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Agent 13 squares with the titular superhero in his first adventure set in modern-day America. The secret agent was fighting alongside him in search of his old friend Bucky, but a familiar energy arose between them.

Later, Agent 13 is revealed to be Peggy Carter’s granddaughter, meaning her connection to Captain America has gone deeper than has been previously achieved.

Sharon Carter, as we learn to be a name, once again popped in Captain America: Civil War, where she assisted Captain America in his fight against his friends. After that, however, Carter was largely forgotten, and she did not appear in any of the last two. Avengers movies.

Fans on it Reddit discussed this in a thread about the weakest actors in the MCU. When a Reddit u / TheWaylandCycle user named VanCamp, conversations arose as to whether it was poor performance or a poorly written character. To u / oakzap425, however, the case was not as bad as poor performance because it was Evans’ lack of chemistry.

“I always felt the key issues [Van Camp] is that there is absolutely zero chemistry between her and Evans. I wonder if there is a connection behind the scenes. ”

That debate goes on to say that she was barely in the movies so it’s hard to judge the value of her character, or whether she belongs in the MCU or not. ”

Evans got on wonderfully with Hayley Atwell, played by Peggy. With VanCamp, however, it was hard to buy the romance. For one, she was the granddaughter of someone the character was also in love with. Second, she had little study time to develop good relationships. Whatever happens, all is not a lost cause.

VanCamp will be reiterating its role in the future The Hawk and the Winter Soldier on Disney +.

What now for Emily VanCamp?

There is not much information about it The Hawk and the Winter Soldier. Finally we saw the titular characters. They were taking over the ribs from the aging Captain America. With Chris Evans out of the picture, though, the chemistry issues could be a thing of the past.

Fans can find out in 2021 when the show is expected to be released. So far, they’ve only gotten what they’ve seen work off, and a lot of fans don’t like it at all.
