Elvis Presley became a game of Las Vegas. His concert film Elvis: That’s the way it is featuring its Vegas comeback show in 1970, and the city is still home to Elvis reporters. Not all Vegas shows are created equal, however. Elvis ’favorites and his former wife, Priscilla Presley, recently spilled the beans.
Priscilla Presley was a guest on the Seven Networks Sunday night podcast in 2017 to share memories about Elvis. She considered his roller coaster friendship with all live shows, but named one Las Vegas show as his favorite.
Elvis Presley was always passionate about performance
Elvis looked so strenuous on stage, it’s hard to believe he got scared on stage. Priscilla said he never left, no matter how famous Elvis became.
“No, I think once he got on and once he made it feel to the audience, once the audience took to the stage. Feeling comfortable or responding was when he started playing around and feeling a little more confident, but he was very, very nervous, ”said Presley. “When I tell people this, when they go, ‘Elvis was never anxious on stage,’ yes, he did. He was nervous. ”
He even started back on stage before Elvis went on.
“Since I’ve been doing live shows – I do Panto in England and then I have my own show, Afternoon with Priscilla Presley – I get it now, ”she said. “I find it I didn’t do when I was young when he said he would be anxious because it was hard to believe. You don’t know your audience. They are all different. ”
This was King’s favorite Las Vegas show
Even when Elvis lived in Las Vegas, there were good listeners and bad listeners.
“When it was in Vegas, your audience had dinner at that time and then you had your last show that was around 12, I think,” Presley said. “The late show was his favorite show because people drank a few drinks, they were a great audience. When the dinner show was over, people were walking around, the waiters were still waiting so you could get different answers. ”
