Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt – who put Brangelina together through their relationship – boasted the alcohol romance story. From forbidden love to marriage, children, and divorce, their story is similar to that of the “Battling Burtons -” Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, who married and separated… twice. Let’s start from the beginning.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s’ Mgr. and ‘Mrs Smith’ the story is similar to Elizabeth Taylor and ‘Cleopatra’ by Tim Burton story
Pitt and Jolie met on the set of Mr and Mrs Smith – when Brad Pitt was married Friends star Jennifer Aniston. Paparazzi blocked Pitt after seeing his chemistry on screen with Jolie; many thought the on-screen movement mimicked the off-screen one. It was a matter of forbidden love.
Similarly, Taylor and Burton were married when they fell in love on a set Cleopatra. Burton was married to actress and theater director Sybil Williams, while Taylor was married to singer and actor Eddie Fisher. Taylor and Burton both parted ways to follow their hearts.
Scandal surrounded Burton and Taylor as it did Pitt and Jolie. Before Burton and Taylor allowed their relationship to become commonplace, press releases were used to dispel the rumors of romance (i.e. facts) getting drunk. The couple also aimed to mock the public interest with their chemistry as a way out – a tool Pitt has used before when it comes to dealing with paparazzi.
Brangelina and the Battling Burtons ended their relationship shortly after appearing in films that properly portrayed troubled couples.
While their two romances began as passionate matters, they ended in divorce. Taylor and Burton were obsessed with drugs, alcohol, and issues. Pitt and Jolie kept the details of their divorce a little more private, but apparently missed the spark.
Close to their relationship, Burton and Taylor appeared in a film titled Separation of his, Separation of Hers. They were remarried from 1975 to 1976.
