Is that any surprise Dolly Parton love Christmas? She has released several Christmas albums, appeared in several Christmas films made for TV, and hosted the annual “Smoky Mountain Christmas” event at her Tennessee theme park, Dollywood. But this year, the Queen of the Country is all out.
For 2020, Parton has a new Christmas album, Christmas Holly Dolly;; new Netflix movie, Dolly Parton Christmas on the Square;; and one-hour special holiday that comes on CBS on Dec. 6. In an interview with Good housekeeping, she talked about her love for Christmas and how she plans to celebrate this year despite the pandemic (COVID-19) pandemic.
Dolly Parton says ‘Christmas means everything to me’
It’s been three decades since Parton last released a Christmas album – 1990s Home for Christmas. In an interview with Elle, Parton explained why she decided that 2020 is the right year for another collection of holiday songs. The new album features appearances from Parton’s brother Randy as well as Willie Nelson, Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley Cyrus, Michael Bublé, and Jimmy Fallon.
“Well, Lord, you know it’s been thirty years since I last did [Christmas album], ”She said. “I can’t believe it. But with COVID and everything going on in our country right now, I felt like we needed a break and to do it with a holiday message it was perfect for me. ”
