‘Cobra Kai’ Star Ralph Macchio Reacts to Those Mr. Miyagi Letters In Season 3

Cobra Kai newly discovered Karate Kid stories to be told 30 years after the original trilogy. However, the biggest obstacle has always been the death of Pat Morita in 2005. Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) mentions Morita’s character, Mr. Miyagi, a lot so it’s clear that he’s not the present leaves a hole in his life.

Pat Morita isn’t with us anymore obviously, but it’s how you keep Miyagi alive throughout the series and inform the show, inform the character LaRusso, and of course inform the character Johnny Lawrence and the children of LaRusso and others with whom he touches? So with Tamlyn Tomita and Yuji Okumoto knocking him out of the park and just doing a nice job, we had to head to Okinawa. Yuji and I got to go to Okinawa. Karate Kid II was shot in Hawaii and Los Angeles. So Cobra Kai has got Macchio and LaRusso to Okinawa country. It was very special and those views are special to me.
