One month before her sudden death in December 2016, Carrie Fisher released a memoir with the title Princess Diarist. In the book, Fisher revealed that she and Harrison Ford were engaged in a three-month relationship. The news came after they appeared in several Star Wars movies and put them on tour.
Fisher shared how her secret relationship with Ford affected their day-to-day operations in November 2016.

While always planning to share the souvenir, Fisher said she did not want to “ambush” Ford. Fisher also felt that she was not negatively representing her lover.
“I don’t think that appears to be the case, or it is indeed offensive,” she said. “It simply came to our notice then. It’s smooth. I mean, the way people treat me is funny to me too. I would do it at 73. ”
