Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford had a relationship while on the set of their film, Star Wars: A new hope in the 1970s. The actors played by Princess Leia and Hans Solo, respectively, kept the affair a secret until November 2016. In her last memoir, Princess Diarist, Fisher explained how the romance with Ford affected her at the time.
Harrison Ford began the relationship with Carrie Fisher when she was tipsy
Fisher’s sexual relationship with Ford occurred when she was 19-years-old. Ford was off the market after marrying his high school sweetheart. When they married, the couple also had two children. Nonetheless, Fisher said Ford started dealing with her while firing in London.
During the short relationship, Fisher discovered that she wanted more from Ford and the relationship. The married father of two became Fisher’s “top priority”. However, Fisher said she knew Ford could not restore love because of his situation. Surprisingly, Ford’s unrequited love was what Fisher needed at the time.
“I keep trying to make you love me, but I don’t want the love,” Fisher wrote. “I prefer the question about it. The challenge. ”
After the relationship, both Fisher and Ford continued to work together. She said none of her Star Wars scene members knew about the romance, including Mark Hamil. Fisher Paul last married Simon in 1983, and the marriage lasted for one year.
