Mar actor Brie Larson preparing to return to her role as Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel 2, many questions are answered. While Marvel executives and stars remain tense about what’s to come in future movies, fans have been promised more LGBTQ production. How would Larson feel if her character came out?
Brie Larson featured in ‘Captain Marvel’
Larson made his way into the MCU with 2019’s Captain Marvel. The film features her character, originally called Vers, a member of Kree’s armor whose whereabouts are unknown. After landing on Earth in 1995, Vers discovers that she is Carol Danvers, an Air Force pilot who was taken to Hala after gaining superpower.
Carol learns some of this on her own, but the pieces come together when she meets Maria Rambeau. Maria and Carol worked together and became good friends, with Maria’s daughter Monica referring to Carol as “Auntie Carol. Maria does not have another important person, and Monica’s paternal grandfather is not being treated.
Carol Danvers has no love interest in the film
Unlike the previous solo films of Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America, Carol Danvers has no traditional love interest in her film. Any of Captain Marvel co-directors Ryan Fleck said ComicBookMovie.com “There was no room for any romantic story.” And Larson agreed.
“The big love story in this movie is her best friend,” Larson said in an interview with news.com.au. “It simply came to our notice then. And I can’t think of anything more powerful to me than the love girls of my life. To find out what that experience is like [in the movie] feeling powerful, ”she explained.
Larson allows Valkyrie and Carol pairing
While many felt that Maria and Carol were lovers, of course, Marvel is unlikely to be retroactively browsing the subject. With MCU function now decades past Captain Marvel, some fans have chosen Carol’s future love interest – and she agrees.
“We’re here to send it away, yall!” Larson of the proposed romance between Carol and Valkyrie, Asgardian character Tessa Thompson. She made this announcement at ACE Comic Con in 2019, and met with thunderous applause. Valkyrie is the first bisexual outside character in the MCU, and will appear inside Thor: Love and Thunder.
She repeats her role in ‘Captain Marvel 2’
Captain Marvel 2 it was first announced in 2019. Naturally, Larson repeats her role. Teyonah Parris, who sees an adult audience in Disney + miniseries WandaVision, playing adult Monica Rambeau. And Iman Vellani is ready to paint Kamala Khan, aka Ms Marvel, a role that will keep her going in her own Disney + show.
The sequel, which is due out in November 2022, features Nia DaCosta as director. A script is in the works, but as of January 2021, details of a plot, including when it will occur, have not been confirmed. But while Larson hasn’t talked about the project, her statements show she’s a game for Carol going on a woman.
