‘Blue Bloods’: Why Did Sami Gayle Quit Nicky Reagan Part

Longtime fans of multi-generational CBS foam drama, Blue blood, has had the opportunity to see the Reagan family Sunday dinners for over 10 years now. Among the younger generation of the family in attendance is Nicky Reagan-Boyle, played by Sami Gayle. She has been on the show since it started in 2010 when she was just 14 years old.

Last season, fans of the character were heartbroken when Nicky announced that she would be moving to San Francisco to pursue her career and would not be a regular at Sunday dinners. While many thought she had stopped the show, the reality is not so black and white.

Why did Sami Gayle resign Nicky Reagan?

Like most children’s actors on long shows, Gayle had to settle a lot while filming Blue bloods. She was not only a regular character on the series, featuring the young Reagan growing up amidst the pressure and drama that was playing out with her family, but the van A young actor also leads his own growth into adulthood.

She even attended Columbia University in real life around the same time her character did. While they are very different people, Gayle has learned a lot from her character.

“Nicky speaks for what she believes in, even against disagreement. Growing up with her by my side helped me learn to speak my truth and appeal to myself in my personal and professional life, ”said Gayle in a recent interview with Iris glitter.

In season 10, program 5 Nicky Reagan announced she was leaving her home in NYC and moving around the country. At this point, fans accepted that she was canceling the show, however, Gayle did not make any formal announcement that she intended to leave the show. She appeared much smaller after the news, a big move after being such a long regular series, and was never seen again that season until program 16.

Has Sami Gayle returned to ‘Blue Bloods’?

Previously Blue blood back for season 11, the series’ Instagram account let several posts count down to cheer for the premiere of the season. Among them was a statue of Nicky Reagan on the post announcing “in 5 more days.”

Some fans were thrilled with one person saying, “Wait if anyone noticed what they said … NICKY BACK.” Another wrote, “Please bring Sami Gayle back permanently.” Some fans of the show were not so happy with her return.

Now a few times into the new season, it is confirmed that she is back, but is still involved in the show she will be and where her character’s story will go. For her part, Gayle told Glitter that she would like to see her character “live out the desire to serve in the NYPD” and go on another tour with Nicky’s uncle, Danny Reagan, played by Donnie Wahlberg.

How is ‘Blue Bloods’ filming different this season?

While they were for a while, demonstrations came to a halt, now they are going on again with team members and crew taking special care. Gayle told Glitter that they do daily tests, keep a distance from each other, and wear masks. The team even has robotic cameras to physically reduce the number of people on a set.

“While I wish I could give my coworkers a hug, I am so grateful for the opportunity to see them and work with them at all. So many people who work in TV, film, and theater are out of work right now. We are fortunate to shoot in such a difficult time, ”she said.

While not filming, Gayle has been spending her time in her childhood home in a suburbs of Florida. She spends her time baking, staying active, and working on music. She also has two film projects in the works with her brother, Chad Klitzman.
