Audra Gold: For the past 20 years, I’ve been working with early stages of building digital products that deliver live game change ideas that have grown into major tech companies, mostly on the sidelines. B2C.

Prior to creating Vurbl, I founded a product management consulting firm with a focus on helping early stage companies get to market. I also ran production for Pluto.tv, The Mighty, Rubicon Project, Break Media, Fourthwall Studios / Nantworks, and held senior product management positions at several other LA and San Francisco-based technology companies.

CS: What is Vurbl and how does it work?

AG: Vurbl is an audio platform for people who create audio of all kinds and for audiences who like to be entertained and engaged with the audio medium. Enjoy audio from hundreds of categories, thousands of playlists, and millions of audio files all in one place for free. We are democratizing the format of audio, welcoming all sorts in one place, from audiobooks to podcasts, to lectures and education to comedy and reflection.

If it’s good audio content, you can get it on our platform, along with some user – generated audio as well. As an added bonus, we also have Vurbl Expert curators making gameplay tools around themes and themes that we see people looking at Google and elsewhere. We’re making publishing, consuming and monetizing audio content easier and more turnkey than ever before.

We are the first of our kind in the United States – a single destination where anyone can publish or listen to any audio content in the world, all in one place. You can also easily parse it (our temporary patented device), playlist it, and share it in ways that no other platform has ever offered. We provide free audio content to anyone with internet access. We provide ways to monetize audio content that no one has ever offered.

CS: What inspired you to create Vurbl?

AG: Most of our team has spent a lot of time building and growing video platforms, video advertising products, and video content. We’ve seen the evolution of video from the early 2000s to the present and we know everything that had to happen to make a video the way it is today.

We’ve noticed that audio hasn’t taken the same steps in growing to respond to today’s internet ecosystem, and we know how to apply that. We want to bring all audio content together in one place, make it easy to find content that is meaningful to you, and allow creators of all types of audio to build a business around their content.

What better model is there for this than the YouTube model, where creators can upload anything, find an audience, be eligible for advertising revenue sharing, and diversify as an individual -impression? We now give audio creators that same opportunity: the opportunity to make a lot of money from their audio content and help them deliver an exciting stream of audio content to their audience that will they create or curate playlists.

CS: How do you think Vurbl will affect the media industry?

AG: On the industry side, we are cracking down on the opening of RTB ‘s open market audio programming space in a way that has never been done before. This will open up huge opportunities on the ad buying side, and we believe it will bring more audio advertising consumption from traditional radio in the digital space, just as programmed video has continued to earn more than the traditional TV advertising dollars. .

On the user side, with all listeners in one place, audio will have ample opportunity to go viral in the way that a YouTube video does. We believe that Vurbl is the most important place on the internet to find new audio talent.

You won’t need to do a podcast to create audio content, just say and upload something funny or interesting to Vurbl, make a funny audio meme, or go crazy and make a rich script presentation. If it engages content, it gets the following on Vurbl.

CS: What advice would you give to advanced Leaders?

AG: First, have a great passion for what you do. Then, your field of knowledge will be better known than anyone you’ve ever met. Be tough as nails and you will have intensity and work ethic. Surround yourself with the same kind of people from your trusted network.
