Ashanti is secretly famous when it comes to her relationships. But that didn’t stop the tabloids from getting into a love life. News outlets linked former artist Murder Inc. with rapper Flo Rida “Right Round” in mid-October. But is Ashanti going back to Flo Rida? Find out all we know about these two, below.
Ashanti and Flo Rida have been friends for years
It is unclear how and when Ashanti and Flo Rida met. However, they seem to have gotten to know each other at least since 2014, when they photographed together behind the stage at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards.
Over time, the artists apparently grew into friends after a few run-in opportunities, including in 2015 at an all-white party in Miami. Ashanti even helped ring Flo Rida in his 40th birthday in September 2019, earning shout from Flo Rida on Twitter and Instagram.
The tone of his message combined with their body language in pictures showed a strong platonic relationship. However, rumors of romance have surfaced due to posts shared by Ashanti on social media in October.
Who is Ashanti on a previous date?
Prior to her association with Flo Rida, Ashanti sparked rumors of a romance with rapper Joyner Lucas. The profit came from the video for their 2020 song “Fall Slowly (Evolution),” which features them as lovers and includes several excerpts of the two kisses passionately. However, it seems to have been nothing more than a song stunt.
She has also been linked with celebrities such as comedian Michael Blackson (2019), NBA star James Harden (2018-2019), and NFL player Darnell Dockett (2015-2016), among others. But none of these rumors have been confirmed.
Throughout her career, she had only one confirmed relationship and was with St. Louis, Missouri rapper Nelly. She was affiliated with the “Country Grammar” star in 2003, when they were both early in their music course. Their relationship lasted for nearly a decade before the two separated in 2012.
Interestingly, there were rumors in the early 2010s that Nelly and Flo Rida were joking. The rumors came amid allegations that Flo Rida copied Nelly’s style. However, Nelly pointed out that in 2012 he did not look like beef The Breakfast Club, says: “There’s plenty of room for everyone.”
